The Australian Open Championships 2023 are taking place from 2-10th January at the Rendezvous Hotel Perth Scarborough. The event is organized by the Chess Association of WA on behalf of Australian Chess Federation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Championships consist of Open and Minor sections, both to be completed over 11 rounds of Swiss system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Open is a GM norm tournament, while Minor is restricted to players rated below 1500 FIDE (or 1600 ACF).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Top prizes are AUD 3000\/2000\/1000\/700\/500\/400 etc<\/p>\n\n\n\n
